Photosimulations
City of Manteca, Manteca, California POITRA Visual was selected to provide a photo-realistic aerial simulation for an alternative proposal for the SR99 and SR120 Interchange improvement project. The design greatly expanded the interchange's connection options. The design included several new ramps to accommodate these new connections. The interchange is located in sprawling open farmland and is characterized by lengthy ramps. The Engineer provided an excellent oblique aerial that made the entire interchange visible to be used for the simulation. |

Draft layout plans for the interchange and the interface with the local street system were delivered by the Engineer. POITRA transferred the design data to the photograph carefully matching the perspective.
Traditional digital painting techniques were used by POITRA artists to add or widen three overpass structures, the connecting interchange ramps, retaining walls, laneage, traffic control, sidewalks, medians, and fill slopes. The previous bridge and roadway design experience of the POITRA Visual principals played a key role in accurately interpreting the Engineer's design plans and efficiently transforming the information into an accurate illustration.
The final aerial simulation was used to present the design proposal to CalTrans and Redwood City. |
